Nintendo Still Leads the Pack in Japan

Nintendo is still forging ahead in Japan, according to the latest sales figures for the week ending June 3 from Media Create. The Nintendo DS Lite leads the pack with some 123,140 sold, followed by the Wii with 69,748 sold. The PS3 still languishes a fair way behind, with some 8,998 units sold. Here are the full figures:
DS Lite: 123,140
Wii: 69,748
PSP: 26,358
Playstation2: 11,814
Playstation3: 8,998
Xbox 360: 2,219
Gameboy Micro: 310
Gameboy Advance SP: 247
Gamecube: 226
DS: 71
Gameboy Advance: 16
Sliced Comments: Despite the figures, Wii owners are still quite getting edgy at the lack of quality titles, especially here in Australia. Let's hope towards the end of the year the games really start flowing through, leading to a positive long-term lifespan.
