Rainbow Six Map Pack Disappearance Explained - Xbox 360

It appears that Ubisoft has finally come clean about the unexplained kidnapping of the Rainbow Six "Black" pack by vicious terrorists the other week. It appeared briefly on Live last week before being pulled down.
It was available for 800 credits (or about $10), however complaints were quickly raised by gamers as the recent Playstation 3 release of the game included these maps for free. So why were Xbox 360 owners being asked to pay something extra for something that was available for free to Playstation 3 owners from the get-go? In response, Ubisoft has decided to offer the Black pack now for free to 360 owners, as well as the previously released 'Red' pack. They should be available shortly, if not already for free download.
Players who purchased the Black Pack during the short release window can request a points refund.
Sliced Comments: Hopefully this keeps Rainbow Six fans all happy and shooting in the air in celebration. In all seriousness, it does raise an interesting issue for paid downloads and multi-platform systems. Should players of one system be forced to pay extra that is available for free on another? Time will tell, but we're betting on the answer being 'no'.
