Playstation 3 Price Drop Rumours Increase - PS3

Rumours recently have been spreading rapidly about a possible official drop in the RRP for the Playstation 3, to be announced at E3 next week.
Some near confirmation of this has been reported on gamedaily.biz, stating that a major US retailer will be dropping the price on all it's PS3 consoles after July 12th by $100USD. Advertising for the drop will take place on July 15th.
This, if it turns out to be the case would put the price of the PS3 at $499USD ($594AUD). Going on Sony Australia's refusal to bring the console here in lines to the rest of the world, we wouldn't be holding our breath for a similar drop here - however a $120AUD drop would bring the price just under $900AUD.
Sony President, Ryoji Chubachi has currently stated that there "are no plans at present" to cut the price, but of course, that could change come next week.
Sliced Comments: Maybe it's almost time to start putting some money asside for a PS3. Say $890 may be a reasonable psychological point, but really we're still paying nearly $300 more than those in the US!
