GoldenEye on XBLA Rumours Persist - Xbox 360

When Rare were acquired by Microsoft all those years ago, many hoped that they'd see some of the N64 classics be given a new leash of life on both the Xbox and the Xbox 360. While this has happened to an extent, the updates proved to be even less of an experience than the original titles.
With the arrival of Xbox Live Arcade, many again hoped that the old games would appear on Microsoft's new system. Rumours have flown around this week concerning an apparently almost complete version of the N64 classic "GoldenEye", featuring the original look and feel as well as multiplayer, was cancelled just two months before it's release due to royalty disagreements between Microsoft and Nintendo.
Microsoft have responded to the rumour with the firm "We don't comment on rumours and speculation" garb. They also added that "While the games community's response to this rumour is extremely flattering, we don't have anything to announce at this time."
The desire for GoldenEye to be ported over to XBLA has persisted for a while now on Rare's website. However, it was always met with an excuse of the issues concerning licensing, so it'd be rather interesting if this rumour turned out to be true. I'm sure more than a few Nintendo fans would be disappointed if the game appeared on the Live Arcade system anyway.
