Okami's Box Art Features IGN Logo - Wii
21st April 2008, 2:26pm

So, Okami's coming to Wii. Yay! It was just released in the US. Yay! The box art has the IGN watermark on it. Yay! Wait, what?
Kotaku picked up on the story after numerous reader tipoffs, and are highlighting the faint outline of the IGN logo in the middle of the artwork. Check out their pic below. You have to wonder why the people designing the box art were unable to use their own assets, and instead had to pinch them second-hand from IGN.
Sure, it's a pretty major (and frankly, hilarious) screw-up, but we have to hope the poor guy who did it isn't fired.

Before I read through all of that I thought the fact that there was the watermark meant that the game isn't actually coming to Wii and someone had released that image and accompanying rumour and stuffed up. To find out that an employee at Capcom (or whoever were in charge of the box art) stuffed up is much funnier!
I'm also confused as to why they didn't use their own image, surely the quality would be much better. It would be easier if the link in the post wasn't hidden.
This is straight from the news so the image doesn't show up here. It's the top story on the main page so it's easy enough to see.

Pretty funny, but not very noticeable I don't think.

That's pretty silly. I presume that picture is of the actual box art, and not something someone made? Hope the same thing doesn't happen with the PAL box art.
