MySims Kingdom Announced - Wii, DS
We didn't really like MySims. There were kinda a lot of problems with it. But as I've mentioned before, our opinion means squat, which is why EA is bringing out a new game in the series.
Titled "MySims Kingdom", this new version is apparently more story orientated. Here's the press release, which doesn't really tell you a lot about anything.
"King Roland needs your help to make the Kingdom a better place. Throughout this tale to bring the Kingdom back to its former glory, you must help new and old friends alike, discover new lands and build to the limit of your imagination."
"Your MySims Kingdom experience begins in The Capital, the majestic land at the center of your adventure. After you have met an initial cast of characters including King Roland, Princess Butter, and your constant companions Buddy and Lyndsay, you can venture beyond The Capital. Find out more of what awaits you, and then get in your boat to sail to many more lands on the horizon!"
"Throughout your journey new characters, lands, and clever new contraptions will be revealed. Construct and do everything from tending your pigs to finding treasure chests. Newly-added building options will help you accomplish the tasks you're challenged with along the way. In true MySims fashion, everything is customizable, allowing every creation within your world to have a signature look."
The Wii isn't the only console that MySims will grace: it's also coming to the DS. It's due out in Spring 2008 for the Northern Hemisphere.

Click on "me" in the quote up there, that will take you to my review, you'll get an idea of what MySims was about.
Is this going to be set in a Medievil time, or more of a current day with dark-ages elements?
I personally can't stand The Sims, but can't deny it's damn popular. Woudl be interesting to see it in a different time-setting, although they may have already done that (wouldn't know myself).
Seems these King (roland) games are becoming a semi-popular realm for developers, hey?
MySims, Final Fantasy for WiiWare, that King Story game from those other Japanese devs.
King Story will take the cake, I think.
I reviewed MySims and said this:This lack of optimisation, linear progression and, all in all, fairly limited range of things to actually do suggests MySims was rushed out the door prematurely. It’s a shame, because beneath all the problems you can see the glimmers of an ambitious and potentially great game. Despite all I’ve said above, I do hope EA has the courage to go back and make MySims 2. Fix the bugs, and throw in an online mode for item trading (seriously, how did this not make the cut?) and visiting other villages, and it could really be huge. Unfortunately, as it stands MySims just isn’t worth your time.
I'm glad to see they had the balls to go back and make a sequel, hopefully fixing up the issues they had the first time around.
