GameStop has revealed the US price for the upcoming Guitar Hero game. The full "World Tour Band Kit", which contains the drum kit, guitar and microphone, will set you back $189.99. A guitar only kit will set you back $99.99. Apparently, you can also get the game on its own, which will cost $59.99 (or $49.99 for the Wii and PS2). Does that mean you'll be able to use the Guitar Hero III controllers? Who knows!

These are the US prices of course, which means the Australian prices will be...oh dear.

They release it on the PS2 and PS3 owners just buy that version. The graphics really aren't anything special in GH games so PS3 owners don't care... or they just buy the 360 version

Why don't they release it on the PS3? Seems weird. Surely it can't be that hard to program it for the PS3 after 360 and Wii.

They are aren't they?

Aussie dollar is doing OK against US, so won't be too much of a difference.

It will still be quite big there is always a big difference regardless of the exchange rate.

Yeah, I forgot about shipping =\  Silly me.

Violin Hero would be sick.

But it will hugely more expensive... just like Rock Band has been priced. Shipping will probably be the main culpurit, but as ever they will just stick a lump on there anyway. Importing would almost certainly be the cheapest bet.

$200 for all that hardware isn't too bad a deal me thinks, though I'd need to see what each can do before I go forking out for them.

What I find more interesting is the move away from basic "guitar only" setup - Game of Violin Hero anyone?
