Beyond Good & Evil Sequel to be Easier

30th May 2008, 2:24pm

Oh gaming Gods, why must you torment me...

Ubisoft head-honcho Yves Guillemot spoke to Next-Gen about the upcoming sequel. He believes that the first game sold poorly because the game was too hard.

"We saw with Beyond Good & Evil that so many customers were extremely happy with the game. We had a different audience at that time. We had more core gamers than casual gamers than we have today."

"We think the game was probably a little too difficult for the general gamers at that time. We’re going to make it more accessible and make sure that it’s really done for the new generation that’s come into videogames."

WHY.

HEY, I KNOW!!

Let's take a critically acclaimed game that everyone who played it LOVES, and then, I don't know, not make a sequel for FIFTY GODDAMN YEARS!

And then, when we DO, we'll make it EASIER, so the PEOPLE that NEVER BOUGHT THE FIRST GAME will LIKE IT, and the people who LOVED THE ORIGINAL will HATE IT, because it's the people who DON'T GIVE US MONEY that we want to impress.

Fuck you Ubisoft. BG&E was damn near perfect, you only had to do it again, since it's a trilogy, but shinier and stuff. I know that there are a lot of samey pieces of crap out there, just shinier and browner and shiny brown on current gen hardware, but there's been nothing like BG&E since, and if it's that good, WHO THE HELL WOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT MORE OF THE SAME?!

Bastards.
