Pre E3 Rumour: Microsoft to Allow Third-Party Hardware? - Xbox 360
27th June 2008, 12:42pm

With E3 fast approaching, the rumour mill is kicking into overdrive. Here's one for the 360: Microsoft is apparently planning to allow third-party manufacturers to produce hardware for the console. This rumour comes courtesy of EGM, which sprang from something that Microsoft's David Gosen said about Microsoft working on something "game changing".
Yes indeed, this rumour is ridiculous, but if it turns out to be true, we could see some sort of 360/lu-Ray hybrid on shelves.
As well as this, Engadget is reporting that 360 pricecut may be on the way before E3. The American version of K-Mart is showing the Pro version of the console for only $299US. This could just be a crazy sale, but who knows?
