Guitar Hero DS Carts Incompatible; Activision Will Exchange
DS
15th April 2009, 1:47pm

We've had a copy of Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades for a while, and a review ready to go for a few weeks too. The trouble was that we wanted to test the multiplayer 'Share The Music' feature that lets you face off against another DS with the original On Tour game, and it just wasn't working.
Activision Australia today confirmed to us at Sliced Gaming that they had unwittingly shipped UK Decades cartridges that were incompatible with the AUS On Tour cartridges. No need to worry, though, folks - if you give customer service a ring, they'll swap it over for a compatible US version. Future shipments of the game will come with the US version in the box.

So?
If you bought the first On Tour, you can by the game by itself. If you haven't bought it before, you need to get the grip as well.

Decades comes both stand alone and bundled with the GBA slot attachment. I can take a photo of one if you want, there's one in the drawer behind me!

Surely Activision knew of the removal of the GBA slot before they made the Decades bundles though..

Yeah nintendo screwed up with Animal Crossing because I don't think we got the right region carts, which usually doesn't matter on the DS.
They offered to switch the Wii disc to one that works, which I haven't done yet.
Well it doesn't have a GBA slot! That's not their fault, that's Nintendo. They're probably trying to work out a way to do it with just the touchscreen.

No like really, people are not choosing between upgrading to a DSi or buying GH decades. Decades is barely selling.

Did they say anything about their DSi fail compatibility?
The whole situation is high-larious!
Did Nintendo ever do this with their incompatible Animal Crossing DS/Wii debacle?
