In an interview with 1Up about MGS4, Ryan Payton of Kojima Productions commented that "There are some misunderstandings that this is the final Metal Gear game. But it's really the final chapter of the Solid Snake story. That's all". Earlier in the interview, he had made another interesting comment, saying there's "still a lot of room for filling in the gaps as far as Big Boss is concerned". This could be a window into what Hideo Kojima is thinking in regards to a new MGS game, and fits in with Kojima's earlier comment that he was already thinking about what to do for MGS5. It seems to be a certainty that there will be another game in the series, so fans who enjoyed MGS4 have something to look forward to.
