Microsoft Offers Free Xbox Live For GTAIV Owners
Xbox 360

In an interesting announcement, Microsoft have stated their plans to offer free access to Xbox Live Gold for owners of Grand Theft Auto IV, as well as its soon to be released downloadable content, The Lost and Damned. From the 17th of February until the 22nd, there will be no charge for connecting to the online service when you connect to the game's online servers. These dates happen to coincide with the release of the new downloadable content, it seems Rockstar are hoping to increase interest in the title, and potentially boost sales for the new content. This is good news for anyone who doesn't currently have a Gold membership, and should serve to entice more than a few potential buyers. The move is a first for Microsoft, hopefully we'll see more offers like this in future.
