A new presentation found on Sony's site has the first two official screenshots of the new Playstation Network Video Store, which is scheduled to come to the PS3 during Winter (for us), and to the PSP at an undecided time. There's all sorts of interesting information in the document, such as:

*It will be possible to access the Playstation Store from the PSP
*There are over 9.8 Million registered PSN users WORLDWIDE
*There have been 170 Million Downloads from the Playstation Store worldwide
*Sony are looking at way to further reduce the price of the PS3 by shrinking the chips and reducing the number of components

You can take a look at the document (in .pdf format) here or in HTML format here.

Though we did get the iTunes TV store in Australia just a couple of days ago, so you never know.

We still don't have the Xbox Live Video store , so doubt we'll get this one

You do have a point, but still, stranger things have happened.

Nick: That's true, it's not getting released here for some reason, so it's an import only title. I think the game will do decently, people like to try something different/unusual (Pokemon Snap, anyone?), and it will appeal to people who like more laid back, relaxing games.

It's not even coming to PAL regions, according to eurogamer. And it costs USD$60. I don't know if this is going to be a big hit.

Pretty much, it's not quite a title for the hardcore gamers, just an alternative type of thing if you're looking for something different. Perfect for more casual gamers, or if you like nature shows.

Yeah, Afrika simulates Africa. You can go around the environment watching animals in their natural habitat, and go on tours. You can take photos, which is part of the game.

Hahah, I find it hilarious that one of their slides is like 'if you add together the sales of the PSP and the PS3, it's more than 50 million units', and then you look at the graph and there's this little sliver of red for the ps3 on top of a pretty solid mountain of psps.

Shrinking the number of components in the PS3? As in, taking out more features?

Oh, and does anyone actually know what Afrika is about?
