Steve Ballmer, at a recent Executive Club at Chicago, stated that there would be a new revision of the Xbox 360 console in 2010. He described it as having a "natural interface", which uses a built in camera, along with voice and motion recognition to help players interact with games and the console. There were no firmer details.

The add-on peripheral will also be available for the existing 360 console, indicating it will be more of a revision, rather than completely different hardware.

IGN asked Microsoft whether this was referring to a true 360 successor, or just the inclusion of Project Natal with the console. Microsoft replied as such:

"As the Xbox team stated at E3 two weeks ago, we are not even halfway through the current console generation lifecycle and believe Xbox 360 will be the entertainment center in the home for long into the next decade. Project Natal will be an important part of this platform, but we have not confirmed a launch date at this time."

Sliced Comments: So it's not all over for the 360 just yet. The new bundle seems like it will include Natal and will no doubt be accompanied by a major marketing push to try and make in-roads into the Wii's broader market.

As in the 360 is not about to be overshadowed by its successor.
