Game distributors Red Ant Entertainment have announced that they will become exclusive distributors of all Konami titles beginning in 2009 for Australia.

Previous distributor Atari will continue to distribute existing titles, and their last distributed title will be Silent Hill: Homecoming - which will be released in February 2009 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC platforms.

Sliced Comments: Hmmm, we thought the next Silent Hill was banned. Looks like we will see a local release afterall, more than likely slightly censored.

I find Steam is pretty good.

Yeah, i was forced to use it when HL2 came out, and it was errible. It may have improved since then but it was by far the worse platform I had ever used at the time.

I was refering to Steam.

Though I may be thinking the wrong thing - Steam as in valves' solution to good gaming? The horrible program that requires rediculous downloads and constant updates, that charged you for everything you do and takes away your will to live? That Steam?

Those downloads are the games you are playing. Those updates are automatic updates that patch the games you have paid for (which you can turn off BTW) so that you don't have to go looking for different patches on different websites and patch the game manually. The only money you pay is for the game itself.

I understand if you have never used Steam it might seem stupid. If the only time you used it was when HL2 was released and the system got hammered so hard nobody could do anything then you're probably still bitter, but there is a reason Steam is the number one digital distribution platform in the world right now.

What do you mean charge you for everything you do? The only money you have to pay is for a game you buy, often at lower price than in store. It does update but automatically and you don't really notice. I like steam, easy to use and lets you chat with friends pretty easily while playing any game.

Either that, or just horrible corporate greed embodied in a program so un-user friendly it brings tears to your eyes....

But, it could be the money thing too.

I have no idea what you're getting at here. Are you saying that the games are bad or that Steam is bad or what?

Maybe Konami PC games will end up on Steam locally now. With Atari handling previously, it wasn't allowed, because Atari hates money apparently.
