Rumour: PS3 Firmware Version 2.4 Features Revealed
PS3

According to www.computerandvideogames.com (CVG), an anonymous source has informed them that Firmware 2.4 is has a planned release in around three weeks time, which interestingly coincides with the time that E3 begins. It would appear that Sony are planning to use their either their pre-E3 conference or their main conference to launch 2.4.
The XMB (Xross Media Bar) features that will be available in-game are said to be these:
* Friend category
* View, send, receive messages
* Manage downloads
* Set the vibration feature of the controller
* Sign in to PlayStation Network
* Register friends
* Manage Bluetooth devices
* Terminate the game
* Music category
* Use the system BGM
* Work the system BGM operation panel
* Settings category
* Assign controllers
* View profiles
* Game category
* Set audio devices
* The voice changer
As has been rumoured before, you'll be able to play back your own music during gameplay, though it's unknown if this feature will be compatible with currently released games, or only new titles which support it. The system BGM will apparently offer functions such as Play, Stop, Previous track, Next track, Change repeat mode, Change shuffle mode and Change volume (with five levels). When you stop the playback of your music, the playback of the game music will then begin.
Sony haven't commented as usual, but it sounds as though we won't have long to wait until we get some kind of official announcement.

Home's a myth. It doesn't actually exist in any of the four known dimensions of time and space as we know it.
They should just add Home already.
