Microsoft today announced at the end of their E3 2010 press conference the new slim Xbox 360 featuring an in-built 250GB HDD and N network wi-fi will be available in stores this week.

The console will ship for the same recommended retail price as the current Xbox 360 Elite.

*Update* Microsoft has confirmed the Slim will be available in Australia July 1st.

The new slim Xbox 360 features more ventilation and is promised by Microsoft to be "whisper quiet", something Xbox 360 owners are not too familiar with, with the older models of the 360 being some of the noisiest consoles in existence.

Check back later today for live updates as we hear them.

*Update* - Pictures added.

Yeah, I can't justify the $250-300 It'd cost to upgrade. If MS run some sort of trade in promotion I may consider it, but I don't see that happening.

hmmm i dont know how i feel about this. it looks sleek and shiny but i am not sure about the exaggerated hourglass angled figure - why couldnt they make it seem like more of home theatre piece of equipment and make it flat?
