Sony E3 Conference - Live Blog
PS3, PSP

It's almost time for Sony's conference, we'll keep you up to date as it happens:
4:45am - 15 minutes to go...
5am - We've got a speech about the PS3, it does a lot more than just games. Kaz Hirai is now on the stage. Sony are the leader in 3D, just like they were with Blu-ray. 20 titles made for 3D will be coming by March next year.
5:05am - We've got Killzone 3 being shown. Hermen Hulst is on stage, he says 3D is completely integrated in Killzone 3. We're now seeing some gameplay, everyone in the audience is putting on 3D glasses. Apparently this is pre-alpha code. There's a lot going on as a squad of soldiers is taking on a stream of enemies. The player is using the new jetpack to quickly navigate an area, and finds himself in a narrow corridor. Heading outside, he leaps across large gaps by using the jetpack, and also attacks enemies from the air. The game is looking pretty polished already. We're now seeing an on-rails shooting section, the player is using a machine gun to take down enemy planes. Killzone 3 will be released in February 2011. It will also be fully compatible with the Move at launch.
5:13am - We've got the Sly Collection, all three Sly Cooper games coming as a pack to PS3. We've got another 3D video about to play, it's a montage of video introducing the Move and 3D. We've got Motorstorm: Apocalypse, cars are driving through a ruinied city. Killzone 3, of course. There's The Fight: Lights Out, a Move only fighting game. Gran Turismo 5, looking good. Sly Cooper with updated graphics. This is the 15th year Playstation has been around, and the PS2's 10th year as an active console. The Move will allow gamers to move into their games. Playstation Move will appeal to both casual and core gamers.
Developers apparently like the technology. We've got a montage of developers talking about the Move. Nothing too convincing. Important fact - the Move has buttons on it. Game discs will have both Move and non-Move versions of the games on them.
We've now got a demo of Sorcery, a third person action game which is designed for the Move. We have 1:1 motion control, the on-screen wizard's arm follows the player's. Flicking the controller towards the screen fires the
spell. You can turn into a rat, which allows you to access new areas. There's a whirlwind spell which can be steered by moving the controller. Spells can be combined, a wall of fire that has a whirlwind speel go through it becomes a flaming tornado. The game is set to be released in Spring next year.
5:40am - We've got a new title, Heroes On The Move. The game features Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper and Bentley all in the one game. It is of course, Move compatible.
Kevin Butler is coming on stage! He says the games are what really matter, not the controllers. He fires off joke after joke, he's a funny guy. He's getting everyone fired up now, makes a big speech, gaming forever! The Move will help bridge the gap between casual and core gamers. The Move will be available in September for $49.99 with the secondary controller for $29.99. There will also be a bundle with Sports Champions and the Move. SOCOM 4, Time Crisis, Singstar Dance, Eye Pet, Toy Story 3, Heavy Rain, Residet Evil 5 - they'll all support the Move. A montage video plays. Brunswick Pro Bowling will be compatible. They're covering different genres as they go through the montage. Shooters, family games, epic battles. Lord of Rings and Tron are shown, as is Sorcery.
We're back to Jack Tretton. The PSP is entering its 6th year. Sony are launching a new advertising campaign for the console. marcuspsp.com. They're pushing MGS: Peace Walker. We've got a new PSP camera accesory. We've also got a teaser trailer for God of War: Ghost of Sparta. It's all CG, seems to be a prequel game. Tretton lists a whole lot of new PSP exclusives, such as Ace Combat. A video montage plays. We see Madden 11, Kingdom Hearts, invizimals, Patapon 3, Fat Princess, Tetris, Eye Pet,Piyotama, The 3rd Birthday, Persona 3 Portable, Valkyria Chronicles 2, God of War.
Playstation Network has 50 million registered users. Sony have recreated their booth in Playstation Home. You can check out all the new videos, and get exclusive items. We've now got Alex Evans from Media Molecule to show off LittleBigPlanet 2. There will be film making tools, gadgets for Sackboy to use, as well as user-made NPCs. You can create your own mini-games, and map the controls to any buttons on the control. They're showing off a good variety of mini-games that were made in the game. Sackboy will be able to spawn items when you press a button by wearing a special hat which can make whatever you like. Sackboy will be doing a lot more than just platforming, there's even an RTS and a Rez-like shooter. They look great. These will be included on the disc as part of the story mode. LittleBigPlanet 2 is a platform for games.
Tretton is announcing Playstation Plus, a new paid PSN service which will offer exclusive content to subscribers. A full year subscription is $50. EA are fully supporting everything Sony are doing, the Move and 3D.
We've got a rep from EA on stage now, he's showing two new exclusives for PS3 versions of upcoming games. The first is the new Medal of Honor game. You'll be playing as a modern soldier, they've worked hard to be as realistic as possible. The game will be released on October 12th this year. The single and multiplayer modes are being developed by different teams. There will be unlockable beards for your character, apparently. We're seeing a new map now, set in Afghanistan - Diwagal Camp. It's pretty well detailed, and the multiplayer is hectic. There will be an exclusive version of Medal of Honor only available for PS3, which comes with a free remastered version of the original PS2 Medal of Honor game.
Next up is Dead Space 2. A gameplay trailer is shown. We've now got the exclusive edition of Dead Space 2, which comes with a free bonus copy of Dead Space: Extraction, now with Move support.
6:25am - Tretton is back. Wait, GladOS is speaking? Portal 2! What's going on? We've got a speech from Valve, they're developing for PS3, Portal 2 will be released for it. We have the very first video of Portal 2 playing. The lab is in ruins, but GladOS is not giving up. "I'm sure we can put our differences behind us. You monster."
Now we've got a new video of Final Fantasy XIV. There's no real gameplay in there though. Mafia 2 is going to be having exclusive DLC available only on PS3. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will be having the same, as well as a multiplayer beta which will only be available on PS3. Metal Gear Solid: Rising gets a quick mention, as does DC Universe Online. Now we've got a montage video of all the new games coming to PS3 this year. True Crime makes an appearance, as does Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Gran Turismo 5 is getting a showing now. There's a flashy CG trailer. The Top Gear test track is shown. We have a release date of November 2nd this year in America. It will fully support 3D.
We've now got the first trailer of inFamous 2. The game seems to have a darker tone, Cole has been completely redesigned. New ice powers will be available. Now we have a surprise announcement? A trailer plays. It's a new Twisted Metal game for PS3! It will be released next year. Here's the first gameplay, from the online mode - Team Deathmatch. We've got a helicopter flying around, destroying the environment. Each vehicle has two special attacks, as well as co-op attacks. The various factions will play a big part. The game is playable at the Sony booth.
6:53am - That's it, the conference is over.

Portal 2 will be good but that's a PC game for me. Move looked alright in some cases but... yeah. Better than Kinect's showing at least. Motorstorm is probably the only thing that really excites me.
I stayed up for it but fell asleep pretty soon in and the feed was stuffing up. Woke up during the new kevin butler PSP ads... and promptly jumped in bed.
Don't understand the Plus move at all, or even Move really for that matter. 3D looks cool if you have the tech. And some solid games too. Excited for Portal 2 and Infamous 2 in particular.
Yep - Sony's definitely gonna be gettin alot more money now....
Playstation Plus, a new paid PSN service which will offer exclusive content to subscribers. A full year subscription is $50.LOL!!!!!! LOLOLOLOL!
Okay so you can still play online for free, but paid subscription? LOL! All the Xbox bashers are eating their words today. BTW that's $49.99US, so it could be as much as $99.95RRP here at launch.
Best news - GT5 November 2. Can't wait! I didn't think it would make it out this year. That gives Black Bean lots of incentive to hurry up with their WRC game.
