Mario Kart Wii Dated - Wii

Today, Nintendo Australia, feeling the pressure of Datel's new Wii Freeloader and getting a little bit hot under the collar about the fact that 96.5% of all Australian Wii owners will now be importing Smash Bros. in about four days, coughed up a questionably gleeful page-long self-loving press release announcing to the world that Mario Kart Wii would be hitting Australia on the 24th of April, but also confused everyone by saying that "Mario Kart Wii retails for $99.95 and is available at all major retailers", which surely made the two fans who actually wanted a casual, inexplicably peripheral-laden sequel to one of the best games on the DS more than Smash Bros. first wet themselves and then realise they'd been cruelly tricked by an easy to make, accidental grammar mistake.
...so we won't bother putting up the whole release.

I didn't like Double Dash either. I love the other games in the series though. And I also hate rubber band AI. Stupid pieces of crap. It punishes you for doing well. I understand wanting to keep things exciting, but when you end up slowing down around corners to game the computer into thinking you're not doing that well just so you don't have to put up with it's bullshit, I call that the very definition of not fun.
yes. apparently it's hard to comprehend
lol, maybe he just didn't like the game
I never had any trouble with the computers. Maybe you should just be less awful?
But I don't understand? All the Mario Kart games have the slingshot/catch-up effect - how can you like a couple of them but supposedly hate another for that reason?
Yes, and Mario Kart 64 was one of the best games on its console. So is Mario Kart Super Circuit on DS, both games I played through and through. Double Dash was a piece of junk.

Yes but to win you have just as much chance if not MORE chance basing your race on luck than skill.

I don't think you understand the purpose of Mario Kart games.
Here's a hint: It's a party game.
So basically you dislike DD because somebody without 'skill'/a computer beat you?
Have a teaspoon of cement and harden up.
Super Circuit is on GBA.

DD was wicked. Still some of the best co-op in any game (specifically a racing game) I've played... which I why I think it's a shame they're skipping that entirely for Wii.
Anyway, I'm pumped for this. If anyone gets all whiney about the wheel, DON'T, BECAUSE I'LL CRUSH YOU!

Skilled players will always win by being able to powerslide around corners and even on the straights. That's a skill, and if you can snake you'll be able to defeat everyone.

That happens occasionally but if you are a better payer than the others you will win most of the races.

It's ridiculous to say there's no skill involved.
Actually I've probably played more racing games than most people on this forum, so I don't see where that comment is coming from.
Err.. One word.. Catch-up. Or is that two words? or a sauce?
If I knew it took no skill to win in the game I wouldn't have met Moonunit.
Go back to your challenging shooting games.
Double Dash was awesome it also still gets heaps of play when I am with people. Isn't it the only gamecube game you still have Nick?

Dude, double dash is underrated - I don't know why people gave it such a hard time. It's still the only game that my sister will ever boot up by herself and play with her friends.
