Amazing Mirror's Edge Footage - PS3, Xbox 360, PC
7th May 2008, 5:09pm
Some of you may remember that Cam Jenkins, in our recent PR Profile with him, was raving about how big a deal Mirror's Edge was going to be for EA. We always take that sort of stuff with a grain of salt, but the first footage of the game has been revealed and we are happy to say he was completely right. See the high quality video for yourself below.
Mirror's Edge Teaser Trailer - 114MB MP4
I bet you this game is now on your radar.

They had screenshots way back when which weren't gameplay, just an approximation of what it'd look like. I'd say this is probably real footage now.

Cameron repeatedly described it to me as all gameplay.

I remain skeptical as to whether that is actual gameplay. They say it's in-game, but for all we know, that's just a video made using the engine.

I like the look of it, I just have a hard time seeing how they're going to make this fun to play, control wise.

I believe it's kind of a package delivery sort of game. I also think you start dealing in some shady business and hence the people shooting at you.
I do like these free movement and parkoury games (not that there are many), I reckon they can pull it off.

Well clearly that's just on the way to a mission or something.

I was impressed I liked the clean feel that it had. Not convinced the gameplay that was shown will keep me interested for long.

hmmm not bad - everything look too clean and fake though

Very nice footage. They're all about their parkour in games these days.
HOWEVER, I'm sometimes a skeptic of this type of first person games. Stuff like Breakout or whatever last gen kind of turned me off the acrobatic first person view. I'm sure they've got it sussed though. They'll need to use rumble really well for it to add to the game at all though.
Looks like a somewhat more basic yet complicated movement system as Assassin's Creed. As in, AC had way more places you could go and climb pretty much anything, this game guides you around with red objects but more movements and that.
