New Mirror's Edge Video Interview - Xbox 360, PS3, PC
11th July 2008, 11:33pm

Yesterday's Story Trailer showed us a bit of the backstory behind the game, but not a lot about the gameplay. Gametrailers have a new video interview available, which explains more about how the game will be played. One of the most interesting things is that there will be only two buttons used in combat, an attack button, and a disarm button. It sounds too simple really, but apparently the mechanics "ebb and flow" with your momentum and how you are moving Faith (the character you control) around.
Apparently the game is also going to have more than just a story mode, which could mean multiplayer, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The potential problem with this game as I see it is that the cool thing about parkour is watching it. It's seeing them make the crazy jumps, slide effortlessly across rails etc. etc. If you're playing it in first person, I don't know if it will be the same.
I'm looking forward to this game, but also somewhat cynical. DICE aren't known for their flawless execution, and the Battlefield series has suffered from plenty of nasty glitches and errors. Hopefully this new style will work a lot smoother.
