Max Payne 3 Screens - PS3, Xbox 360, PC

Rockstar today released six new screenshots of the long awaited new iteration of the Max Payne franchise.

Developed by Rockstar Vancouver, 12 years after the events of Max Payne 2, Max finds himself in Sao Paolo, Brazil – where security work is plentiful but the risks are high. When murder and betrayal dog his every step, Max is once again thrust into the heart of a brutal city with nothing but his weapons and his instincts in a desperate search for truth and a way out.

Max Payne 3 is due out at the end of October on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

G-Train hit it on the head. Max Payne worked because it was noir and a self-aware, self-depreceating concept.

This doesn't look like Max Payne. This looks like every other action game.

Wasn't most of the pull of Max Pain 1 & 2 the whole Noir Big City naration bit? I can't really see the game being anywhere near as good outside of NYC without the whole "Rat Pack" feel to it.
