20th November 2003, 4:49pm
Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) announced today that Metal Arms: Glitch in the System for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, and Nintendo GameCube has shipped to retail stores around the US.
The non-stop action title, Metal Arms, has over 40 missions set in multiple destructible environments. With 17 lethal weapons to dismantle enemies, multiple power-ups and seven multiplayer modes, players are guaranteed hours of fun. In addition, Metal Arms' unique hijack feature enables the player to take control and play as one of ten other friendly and enemy robots, including bosses. The ability to hijack into other robots in the game opens up a number of possible ways the player can approach each level in the game.
"We're very excited about this game. The action-packed missions provide a variety in gameplay not seen in other third-person shooters out there," said Philip O'Neil Sr. Vice President Sales & Marketing, Vivendi Universal Games. "Metal Arms is a breakthrough title which has already piqued the interest of gamers worldwide."
In Metal Arms, players assume the role of Glitch, a gun-slinging, half-ton fearless robot of Droid City. Found as scrap metal, but transformed into destructive machinery, Glitch is determined to free his people from the evil clutches of General Corrosive and his maniacal army of Mil bots. Players unleash a world of pain as they set out to annihilate the General's sinister plan to dominate the world, and salvage the robot race.
