First Revolution Screenshots - Red Steel! - Wii

 Yes, you read that correctly. Screenshots for a Revolution game. Game Informer has scored a world exclusive with the guys from Ubisoft, and has busted open the door on Red Steel an exclusive FPS from the guys that created Prince of Persia, Ghost Recon, Far Cry Instincts and other great titles - Ubisoft Paris.

So, Red Steel...what is it? It's a first person shooter that lets you also use a sword. Guess what - it looks hot. Put those 'Revolution games will look crappy' fears to rest. According to Game Informer, the control rivals, or even betters, that of the mouse and keyboard on a PC. Here are a few snippets from the Game Informer article:

'The longer we played with it, the more natural it felt and the more quickly one mowed down his targets. Straffing around a target is incredibly easy as keeping the controller pointed at an object while you move the analog stick keeps you focused on your target.'

'You will be able to push forward with the controller to knock over an object for cover. Pull backwards to reload your gun and twist it to lean behind walls. You'll also be able to lob grenades by imitating throwing a ball with the controller in your hand or even roll it along the ground with an underhanded throw.'

'While we didn't get to play through a full level populated with enemies, we did try to complete the shooting range challenges as quickly as possible to put the team's claim about controller speed and accuracy to the test. Unlike most console games, we found Red Steel more enjoyable to play while standing up -- with the controller's movement-tracking abilities, we felt more natural playing while standing. The longer we played with it, the more natural it felt, and the more quickly we mowed down the targets.'

Nintendo of Europe apparently referenced a game from Ubisoft called Katana - 'This first-person game combines shooting elements with swordplay ones. What's more, it's incredibly violent and adult-themed.' It looks like Red Steel could be it. Get excited!
