Prince of Persia Rival Swords Unveiled - PSP

 Yes, that's right: PoP on your PSP. A-ha, gotta love acronyms.

Ubisoft today announced that a new Prince of Persia was in development for the Sony PSP. Titled 'Prince of Persia Rival Swords', the game builds upon 'Prince of Persia The Two Thrones' with new levels and new multiplayer modes (one of which being a "timed race mode" in which you play as either the Prince or the Dark Prince and "impede your opponent’s progress by activating switches in your own level that will trigger traps and obstacles in their level"). It will also include the two character system that The Two Thrones featured.

Release date details are sketchy at the moment: we have a tentative Christmas 2006 release for Europe and an early 2007 release for North America. Australia will probably be included in the former, with a chance of it being slotted in between the two dates. More news as we have it.
