Gameplay

Kohan is profoundly known as a game that takes you away from all the micromanagement features of a normal RTS, and lets you concentrate on the battles and the conquest, and Kohan II is more of the same. Once you select to build something at one of your towns, the workmen will pick the best location, and build it all for you requiring no maintenance. They also heal all your buildings that get damaged if they are attacked. This can be turned off, however it's so much easier if you let them do their job so that you can focus on yours - and also you never end up putting a building in the wrong position!

Kohan II is similar to every other RTS. It has its barracks, the town center can be upgraded, and it has all the usual buildings (shrine, library, market, etc). It has varying landscapes, and similar missions to ones any RTS fan has seen before. Seige this town, make sure this other town isn't attacked - and survive. As your townsmen build each town and upgrade different parts of the town, you will be able to recruit new units, commonly known in the game as companies. These vary from swordsmen to archers to catapults. Nothing you wouldn't expect in an RTS. What was good to see is the story is very similar to that of Lord of the Rings. The dark armies have been destroyed (presumably from Kohan I), but they still exist and grow stronger with every day.
