Ty the Tasmanian Tiger sold more than 1 Million copies world wide. It's almost a silent killer as Ty took the world by storm as Australia's new gaming hero. KROME Studios and EA have brought back again the extinct Tasmanian tiger, and equipped him with a trusty boomerang to be set off on yet another journey to save the day from the evil villains that lurk the Outback of Australia. In Ty 2 however, you get the opportunity to freelance around the town, and around various Outback environments to your own demise. Gameplay

We went hands on with Ty 2 at EA Imagine a month before the game was released, and we weren't that impressed with what we saw. However the final product seems much more interesting. The vehicles move a lot faster, and Ty seems to move around much better. The review code we played seemed to be a demo, withholding us from exploring the true world of Ty 2: Bush Rescue. Ty 2 is basically a game where you explore the Australian Outback, and help out your mates as they give you new tasks and missions to complete. On the pause menu there's a percentage that tells you how far you are through the game, so you can keep a close eye on what may lie ahead. A lot of games seem to be doing this these days, such as Sly 2 and Burnout 3.

The game kicks off straight away with the town under attack from some nasties. Straight away you have to use your dual boomerangs to take out all the enemies around you, collecting the purple gems which can later be used to purchase different types of boomerangs. Ty 2 is incredible as it features more than a dozen different types of boomerangs. As you progress through the story, you'll need the different types to get through different areas. Let's not go into the different types of boomerangs, as it would spoil the fun when you get to play it yourself. Let's just say the boomerangs are similar to having an arsenal of weaponry like in Doom 3 or Quake 3.

The gameplay in Ty 2 does get a little tiresome, but there's a fair amount of variety including piloting big robots, massive turrets, and much more. There is only so many bad guys that you can whack with your boomerang before you get bored of it though. The health seems to be plentiful as you go out on your missions - It's very doubtful that you'd ever die, unless you're a very young gamer. Ty 2 will offer about 6 hours of fun all up, but about 10 hours of gameplay, meaning you'll probably be having fun about 60% of the (continued next page)
