7 Get fit whilst enjoying yourself on your Xbox 360. That’s the idea with Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012, and with dozens of different activities including workouts, dance classes, yoga and mini-games, Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 is a step up from its predecessor which started a new trend in fitness. Come take a look at Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 and decide whether it’s worth your cash, or whether your money might be better spent on a gym membership.
Gameplay
Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 is the most accurate fitness game to date. It tracks your movement and coaches you through different classes and gym sessions. Tired of group sessions at the Gym? Your Shape has you covered. It’s one-on-one training where you can focus on different parts of your body such as your glutes, abs, legs, arms, toning, back, or some fast-paced cardio. There are different lengths and difficulty courses to match every type of exerciser, and you can set up challenges which will help as a guide to show you which workouts you should be doing.
The best part about Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 is that it measures every calorie you burn throughout every part of the game. People wanting to be able to track this can do it with ease, and no longer need to rely on estimates or accessories to provide measurements. Of course, at first you need to put in your weight, sex and height for it to be accurate, but once you’ve set the game up it will be one of the most accurate fitness experiences you’ve ever used. There are achievements for reaching milestones of calories burnt, though perhaps Ubisoft have gone a bit overboard with this as the highest achievement is for 200,000 calories which at 150 calories (an hour or so) a day will take you 3 years and 8 months to reach. Fortunately any calories you burnt from the original Your Shape game will come across, and we assume any calories you burn here will come across to Your Shape 2013, so perhaps you will be able to jump back and forth to unlock the achievements throughout all three games in the future if you choose.
The fitness workouts are the core part of the game. These range from 2 minute to 38 minute workouts and will have you moving in all kinds of different ways. You must complete eight activities in each workout to unlock that workout’s medal, and complete all activities in the specific workout to get a flag. These help towards achievements, and can often be a fun way to do one or two extra workouts at the end of your session for that extra push. The classes are set up the same way, but are a bit more of a pain to do. Classes include Yoga, Bollywood dancing, Latino dancing, Cardio boxing, and more. With these classes, you first have to learn the moves before doing one big workout, which could be seen as a waste of time if ...
